“Firebrand” Ted Cruz Well Received by Larry Sabato’s Politics Class

On Wednesday afternoon United States Senator Ted Cruz addressed Larry Sabato’s Intro to American Politics class. Senator Cruz’s visit challenged the media’s negative impression of him and showed his capability of reaching out to voters outside of the conservative base. Cruz did not filibuster on Wednesday. The Scoop on the Rhodes Scholarship

Two UVa students, Evan Behrle and Charles Tyson, were awarded 2014 Rhodes Scholarships this past November. In honor of the University attaining its 50th Scholar, we look back at the history of the Rhodes Scholarship and past UVa recipients. The Rhodes Scholarship was created in 1902 by the will of Cecil Rhodes, a British businessman and imperialist. A Peak in the Crystal Ball

Tuesday evening I attended a Center for Politics wherein Larry Sabato spoke about his Crystal Ball’s projections for 2012. As always, Sabato was both highly informative and light-heartedly humorous. “These are the tools we use here at the Crystal Ball,” he joked, showing the audience an 8 ball and a red and blue etch-a-sketch.
