New Dorm Named In Honor of University Slave Couple

On Wednesday, March 25th, the UVa Board of Visitors announced their decision to name the new residence hall built on Alderman Rd., Gibbons House, in honor of the slave couple William and Isabella Gibbons. UVa Student Arrested, Questions about Police Brutality

Last night, Tuesday March 17, a third year UVa student was held down and arrested by Virginia Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) officers outside of Trinity Irish Pub on The Corner. The student is involved in Kappa Alpha Psi, the Honor Committee, the Black Student Alliance, Student Council, and Orientation Leaders. UVa Honors the Death of Three UNC Muslim Students

A vigil was held last night, Sunday, February 15th, in honor of three Muslim students who were killed in an apartment near the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Deah Shaddy Barakat, his new wife Yusor Abu-Salha, and her sister Razan Abu-Salha were shot in the head by their 46 year-old neighbor Craig Stephen Hicks on Wednesday, February 11th.
