As many UVa students, particularly upperclassmen, likely already know, finding an internship or full-time job can be an arduous task. Luckily, the University has a wealth of resources that students can take advantage of in order to maximize their chances of securing a job. The Spring Job and Internship Fair is just one of many ways that the university is actively seeking to aid students when it comes to job-hunting.
The Spring Job and Internship Fair will be held this Wednesday, January 29 and Thursday, January 30 from 10:00 AM until 3:00 PM on the third floor of Newcomb Hall. Over the course of these two days, individuals from more than 70 employers will be present on the third floor of Newcomb Hall, eager to meet with interested students and discuss job opportunities. The companies represented at the Internship Fair include everything from financial service firms like Ernst & Young and United Bankshares, Inc. to education-based organizations such as Teach for America and the University of Virginia, among others.
Students should dress to impress, as the dress code is business professional; suits, in particular, are highly recommended. Additionally, recruiters will be collecting resumes, so students should bring several copies with them. Students should also create accounts on CAVLink, since doing so will make application and interview processes easier.
Again, the Spring Job and Internship Fair will be held on January 29 and January 30 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in Newcomb Hall. Follow this link for more information about the fair and the firms in attendance.
